1. Theory- I give the student some basic theoretical knowledge, to help to understand the background of the music being played.


2. Practice- When learning a new piece of music, it's the repetition of the difficult parts, sometimes taking it slower than you expect, which really gets results... pratice makes perfect!


3. Fun! At the end of the lesson I like the student and myself to play something easy, so we can have an extended jam and use music for its primary purpose- enjoyment!

Sound at School deliver six week courses specially designed to develop the music skills and talent of young people aged 11-19 years.

We combine the fun and excitement of recording live music with education. As well as supporting the national curriculum and helping with English, maths and ICT; our courses develop communication, presentation and teamwork skills. No experience of playing instruments is required. All our tutors are CRB cleared and fully insured. Workshoops across the Northwest.

If you have ever tried to learn through books, DVDs, Youtube or even sub-standard teachers you will have realised the frustration of not being able to make progress. I can level the playing field and get you to where you want to be fast with the skills you need to play, practice and learn whilst having the most amount of fun along the way.

SAM offers you the chance to learn or improve on an instrument with the tuition of professionals, in a fun and exciting environment. Here at SAM we aim to teach contemporary music with a classical and theoretical backbone. With our hugely varied and flexible syllabus, SAM aims to teach the music and techniques YOU want to learn, or should you want a more graded approach, we offer exams through Trinity Guildhall and Rockschool. We also have a recording studio for use by students and bands.

I am a piano teacher in Hertfordshire with considerable experience, able to give beginner lessons as well as more advanced piano tuition. I have studied with Trinity College and have played piano for over 10 years, playing a diverse range of musical styles at a high level. I offer piano lessons to anyone - from those wishing to learn their favourite tunes all the way to lessons in classical guitar and music theory, as well as many other topics which are listed on my site.
