I created business GALORE! as a free business directory over a decade ago. It didn't look anything like it does now. Back when I first started, I completely coded the directory from scratch. It was successful in terms of businesses signing up to the directory, but unfortunately, the site got hacked a few years after startup. I decided in the interests of protecting personal data and information, that the protection of the business directory was beyond my coding skills and I called it a day.

I have since used the domain as a personal finance blog but I ran out of things to write about and I also ran out of motivation! This year, I have decide to setup a new free business directory but this time, I am using an 'out of the box' solution which also comes with more security.

business GALORE! a free business directory for businesses located in the UK. It's owned and operated by me, Lee Newman trading as business GALORE! (businessgalore.co.uk). This business directory is completely free for all UK businesses to add their business listings. Whilst it may seem odd to start a local UK business directory in 2023, they are still used today by many small business owners. They are an excellent free tool for extending online exposure. This free UK business directory is spam free, easy to use, provides a great user experience, is SEO and mobile friendly which is what I think sets it apart from all the other offerings out there today.

The Help & Info section of business GALORE! is focused on another area of interest of mine which is Online Marketing. I have written some long articles there which I hope will be of some use to you. It's amazing how many small business owners grasp the concept of listing their small business in a UK local business directory but don't take the time to understand how to go about it in the right way. In this section, I try my best to help you get the best out of your free business listings.
